Bulldog gin x London candy company x arrows up = Cocktails and candy
My friends at Real Proof Labs are throwing a party with Bulldog Gin and London Candy Company and asked me to come up with some marketing props to get the crowd excited.
So we are rolling out 100 silk screened, heavy card stock posters to display all over their event space: 'Drink Gin and Candy On'.
The design is a twist on the old British WW2 poster: 'Keep Calm and Carry On', a propaganda campaign to keep public morale high.
We are expecting these posters to be carried home by the party-goers that evening!

Mark Salinas: NYC Ceilidh at chambers fine art
Each year, William Grant & Sons, Ltd., distillers of the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch, Glenfiddich Whisky, chooses 8 artists from around the globe to participate in a 3 month Artist in Residency Program, living and working on the Dufftown distillery grounds in Scotland.
The program, now entering its 11th year, has established a history of unique curatorial support in the creative designs of both emerging and established visual artists from around the world.
In 2011, New York’s Mark Salinas, was chosen as the artist to represent the USA, being the first Fashion Designer ever invited to participate in the program.
Now having returned from Scotland, Salinas, and the internationally established gallery Chambers Fine Art, offers a one-night-only gallery event for Salinas’ USA debut exhibition of works inspired by the residency. This unique event, entitled Mark Salinas: NYC Ceilidh, is based upon the Scot tradition of ceilidhs as social gatherings of entertainment and celebration.
NYC Ceilidh is scheduled for Saturday June 16th, 2012 with public reception from 6-9PM and will debut his creations of Fine Art, Fashion, and Dance inspired by the textures, colors, patterns, and folklore experienced while in the Highlands. The public reception is sponsored by Glenfiddich and will include a Highland Bagpipe performance.
The exhibit will feature several new works made specifically for this US debut. Included among these works is The Kite, the Crow, and the Castle, a fable penned by Salinas, loosely based upon his experience living near Balvenie Castle. Three dancers from YUNG-LI DANCE Company have been commissioned to perform his work, which will be read aloud and performed at 7PM and 8PM. Salinas has designed a sculpture for the fable which transforms into the three character costumes.
As with the ceilidhs Salinas attended in Dufftown, NYC Ceilidh will feature a raffle table with all proceeds going to the local non-for-profit arts organization, Queens Council on the Arts. Raffle prizes donated by the artist, Glenfiddich Whisky, Scotch Club NYC, Pour George, The Pipers Cove, and Walkers Shortbread and are valued at almost $1000.
Come join the fun!

yung-li dance MODUS at baruch performing arts center
I'm so very excited to be part of Yung-Li Chen's talented team putting together her annual production. Many creative layers of symbolism found in this production from equations to construction to social patterns and introspective quirks. A really beautiful spin on our rationale and individualism.
I will designing the stage and accessories while my friend Alexa Galler, the 2012 Ecco Domani winner for her apparel line Eighteenth (www.eighteethnyc.com), will feature her work-known for its clever use of asymmetrical lines- on all six of the dancers!
This is going to be an amazing dance event you will not want to miss!
